going? 2005 began with very bad news
of the Tsunami. I’m sure we all felt
the same shock and horror of it all with donations coming in from all corners
of the earth as the devastation became more known. This spurred me into action and I wanted to
do something too. I rallied colleagues from the circuit and we put together a
show for the Louise
Willgrass Fund. Sponsored by Intervoice
by March we were ready and the show was held at The Garrick Theatre
Altrincham Cheshire. Everyone gave their time and talent freely with comedian
Denny Franklyn, The Brass Monkeys,
The Guvners, Body & Soul Dancers including Salsa and Jitterbug dancers.
It’s amazing how we all pull together when needed, and I thank everyone for
their help in raising £3000. The rest of my year has
been hectic with family weddings, 3 in all. Lots of gigs and new songs to
learn. Then we had the VE Day concerts. One of which I did at The Town Hall
Stockport, now that was a night to remember. Everyone had hired costumes and
looked wonderful. I had the chance to go looking like Vera Lyn as the songs
were mostly all hers I was performing. Let’s see what 2006
brings! Bye for now Julie-lyn xx
